In 2005, I founded Benold Financial Planning to provide clients with objective, goal-based investment advice. However, I was not always a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. Before becoming a CFP®, I followed in the footsteps of my father and became a family physician. After 30 years as a family physician, I decided to pursue my other passion, financial planning.
I graduated from Rice University, where I double-majored in Economics and Biology. During this time, I opened my first brokerage account and invested money for other students.
I am a CFP® and a Registered Investment Advisor. Also, I am an active member of First United Methodist Church Georgetown, where I sing in the choir and have taught a Sunday School class since 1988. I served as Medical Director of Williamson County EMS for 32 years, leading the continuing medical education course for the paramedics. My community involvement continues with being a long-term member of the Rotary Club and serving on multiple community organizations, including the Georgetown School Board. I keep my medical license active and see a few patients at a government facility each week.
My wife, Nancy, and I reside in Georgetown, TX, with our schnauzer, Lotti. We have two adult children and five grandchildren. I enjoy gardening, reading, and playing on my Bobcat at my family’s ranch outside the office.
